“Great Scott!” all-Scott Joplin recital at Stone Chalet in Ann Arbor, Michigan!

Richard Dowling pianist plays Ragtime music at Stone Chalet on Friday March 2, 2018.
Dowling will be performing all Scott Joplin pieces. Scott Joplin wrote the “The Entertainer” used in the Academy Award winning movie, “The Sting”.
 

Richard Dowling is the first person to play the complete works of Scott Joplin. His April 2017 Carnegie Hall concerts sold out. Richard will be performing several of Scott’s pieces for us, playing the 1878 Heirloom Steinway B.

Dowling has also recorded the complete “Grammy Nominated” piano works of Scott Joplin. Listen here:

Richard Dowling performs The Complete Piano Works of Scott Joplin, the Famed African-American Composer of Classic Ragtime throughout 2017 & 2018.

Richard Dowling will perform all-Joplin concerts nationwide throughout 2017 & 2018 highlighted by the first public performance in history of The Complete Piano Works of Scott Joplin in Carnegie Hall on April 1, 2017, exactly 100 years to the day that Joplin died in New York. Mr. Dowling’s tour schedule includes 60+ concerts coast-to-coast.

About Richard Dowling

Hailed by The New York Times as an especially impressive fine pianist, RICHARD DOWLING appears regularly across the United States in solo recitals, at chamber music and jazz/ragtime festivals, and as a guest soloist in concerto performances with orchestras. He has been acclaimed by audiences for his elegant and exciting style of playing which earns him frequent return engagements. Career highlights include a sold-out New York orchestral debut at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, solo recitals at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in New York, and a special award from the National Federation of Music Clubs recognizing his outstanding performances of American music. Mr. Dowling has presented solo recitals in the Far East, South America, Australia, Africa, and Europe. Works of Chopin, Ravel, Gershwin, Gottschalk and ragtime figure prominently in his repertoire.
