People Dancing Public Workshop: Improvisation II Texture and Tempo
Join PDC Director Christina Sears and members of the Company in this dynamic exploration of improvisational movement. Dancers, actors, musicians, hoop dancers, athletes, martial artists and people who want to move more and create community are all invited.
Live music will be part of this unique workshop. Clangstrum band-members and special guests create a lush aural landscape which movers will populate.
Texture and Tempo is our theme, and after a dynamic non-technique warm up, we explore super-slow (butoh pace) tempo and extreme speed, and every pace in between!
Direct instruction from Christina, LMA Scholar, about Texture and the Effort-Shape areas from LMA inform the texture part of the workshop. 1/3 part practice, 1/3 part art-making, 1/3 part new exposures = 100% Fun.
