The Magic Behind the Memoir
In this wonderfully entertaining program about writing a memoir, Ann Arbor personality Daryl Hurst brings back his homespun style of magic with a show chock full of his classic routines and the stories behind them.
In some of Daryl’s comedic routines, he may suggest the use of crude language, encourage sharp-shooting with a pretend gun, or feign to chop off someone’s hand. Parents who find such old-fashioned tomfoolery to be offensive or inappropriate for their children should leave them home.
The show is based on Daryl’s autobiography and is suited to children and adults.
The autobiography Once Upon a Magic Show is the inspiring, funny, sometimes poignant story of how a self-styled “ordinary Joe” from Ann Arbor, Michigan grew up to become an accomplished “Magic Man,” who for decades, brought joy and amazement to audiences of all ages.
Anyone looking for an unvarnished account of a magician’s life, as he juggled being both a professional and a local hero, will appreciate Once Upon a Magic Show. Readers will gain from insights and honesty this memoir contains.
